❝ Duncan helped me work through a debilitating long term phobia that was all consuming and embarrassing for me. His manner and knowledge helped me get used to the sessions quickly and in the end conquer my problem. I now can live my life outside in the summer months and enjoy hobbies again I had previously lost to my phobia. He literally changed my life.❞
❝ I felt very nervous entering therapy but was quickly put at ease by Duncan’s relaxed and calm approach. Although the therapy was challenging at times, Duncan made me feel safe and able to talk freely through my issues.❞
❝ I never really believed that therapy would help me but having had Duncan as my therapist I was able to see the changes in my approach to problems almost weekly. It really helped increase my motivation to achieve the goals we had devised.❞
❝ My family had always looked down on me and I felt I was never good enough. Bringing everything out was very hard but Duncan helped me get through a critical time with my suicidal thoughts and ultimately it put me back in the boxing ring. I am grateful I had him as my therapist as I would not have been able to do any of the work we did together by myself.❞
❝ I felt so at ease with Duncan that I was able to disclose a forty year trauma I had carried all my life without telling anyone. Having the complete trust in Duncan and how he sees areas of my life I had not even thought were linked to my distress, made attending therapy much easier. It has changed the way I live my life for the better.❞
❝ Duncan helped me see that I was worthy as a person again. The therapy was not easy but I was able to see myself in an improved and normalised way. I came to his first session feeling very low with body image issues and left able to secure a lead role in a major local theatre production. That would never have happened without CBT.❞
❝ I was hearing voices and cutting myself in my school toilets, my anxiety was getting worse and I felt frozen like I could not move. I never wanted to speak about it but Duncan changed all that and I felt supported and able to trust his approach with my thinking problems that were starting to ruin my chances of going to university. I can look back now and it does not feel like it was me anymore, my confidence and self esteem are in a much better place because of Duncan.❞
❝ I had OCD that was ruling my whole existence. Through exposure therapy my fear was rationalised and I learnt that I can sit with the thought and there is no consequence. Duncan made we see it’s fixable and not to get wrapped up in beliefs that were not helping me.❞
❝ I experienced a family trauma which led to terrifying flashbacks and nightmares, I was tearful all the time. Duncan helped me through PTSD therapy and the positive changes made me feel proud. I was able to change my outlook. I can speak about the trauma now and look back on it and not be scared.❞
❝ I’m really grateful for the CBT therapy Duncan helped me with when I had crippling PTSD symptoms. My emotions have changed for the better, it’s difficult to get angry even when I try. It’s now like a remote control where I can stop the film, rewind it, make it bigger or smaller or just leave it. Like a book in a library where it is on a shelf rather than not in a place I can’t control.❞
❝ My panic attacks felt like I was suffocating and going to have a heart attack. CBT therapy made me see I was creating a danger that is not really there. Duncan was very understanding it allowed me to re enact situations that I would have been too ashamed to talk about with anyone. Therapy really helped me confront threats that were in the end manageable.❞
❝ For most of my life I have had a phobia that I didn’t really understand and that was gradually getting worse, having a huge impact on my family, work and travel. CBT therapy with Duncan made me confront my fears. At times it was emotionally difficult to get through but so worth it. I now realise my phobia is not harmful or dangerous and I save vast amounts of time and energy as a result.❞
